Saintfridays is in Gargarou, the garden of Harakopio Village, 5km from the town of Koroni in Messinia.

We are half an hour's drive from Kalamata airport, a major tourist hub with links from  Athens, the UK and all over Europe.

Flying from the UK

Easyjet http://www.easyjet.com/en are flying to Kalamata from London Gatwick on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Also try Thomas Cook, Thomson's or Mytravel to fly to Kalamata from Manchester, Birmingham & Gatwick airports on Sundays (until around October). Easyjet also fly from Luton, Gatwick and Edinburgh to Athens. With the new motorway we are three hours drive from Athens airport by car.

Aegean Airlines Fly from Heathrow & also Stansted (some years) to Athens and Manchester to Athens (all year round), they also fly from Thessaloniki to Kalamata (Twice a week all year round) and daily to Kalamata via Munich. We usually drive from Athens as the motorway has been extended to Messinia (hip hip hooray !), it is now only 3hours to Athens and the road is so easy to drive. Forget the old days of twisty mountains with trucks bearing down on you. Consign that to history!  Aegean and Olympic both have good flight times from Heathrow - so you can avoid the horror of Gatwick at 4am on a Sunday morning in August.

Ryanair now flies to Kalamata via Milan from London Stansted On Saturdays and Tuesdays throughout the summer season. See link https://www.bookryanair.com/SkySales/booking.aspx. Watch out though, as if you miss the connecting flight you are not compensated.

Flights are also available from across UK to Athens all year round, Easyjet, British Airways, Olympic, KLM and BMI.

Flying From Germany

Aegean now fly direct from Munich to Kalamata on Thursdays and Sundays from May to Oct.

From the Netherlands look for flights on Mondays from Amsterdam to Kalamata www.arke.nl

Comfortable Ferries from Venice and Ancona to Patras (Superfast, ANEK http://web.anek.gr and Minoan www.aferryto.com)

Alternative route for the intrepid, fly to Zante, hire a car at the airport, take 1 hour ferry to mainland and

3 hour drive from Kyllini.

For the more intrepid traveller, take the Metro (& a bus), the bus or a taxi from the airport to the Peloponese Bus stantion in  central Athens (40 Euros) and take a comfortable coach from Athens to Kalamata. Buses from Athens run almost hourly from 4.45am until 22.45, its the E93X from Athens central bus station to Kalamata, takes 4 hours and cost circa 25euros.  Its worth googling to check the timetable.

There are also regular buses from Athens to  Kalamata  and from Kalamata to Koroni via Harokopio. The buses are very reliable and comfortable and very reasonable.
